Bastei is a fabulous sand-rock formation and has been a tourist attraction for over 200 years. In 1824, a wooden bridge was constructed to link several rocks for the visitors. This bridge was replaced in 1851 by the present bridge made of sandstone. The rock formations and vistas have inspired several well-known artists.
It has its magic and is one of those places that you want to see once in your life. I definitely recommend it if you are a photography or a hiking fan.
Here's a small tip. Is free to visit, except a very small part of it where an iron bridge is build straight between the rocks. For that part you have to pay around 2-3 € and it has the best view.
If you ever get there or you consider it, let me know about your impression. I know I loved it and I wish I had more time to explore around. I spend there like 3 hours, but I will for sure go back for a sunrise photo shoot.
